Dr.Richard Kirkland (Volac Wilmar Feed Ingredients)
Dr. Richard Kirkland has been involved in ruminant nutrition at Volac and latterly Volac Wilmar for 12 years, specialising in the use of fat supplements for improving performance of dairy cows in particular. Presently Technical Manager at Volac Wilmar, Richard is involved in supporting the fats business and research and development to improve knowledge of fat nutrition in ruminant and monogastric diets.
Dr. John Newbold (Volac International Limited)
Dr. John Newbold heads the Technical Department at Volac Animal Nutrition. He has over 25 years’ experience in research and technical positions in the animal feed industry, working in the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and the USA. During that time he has collaborated with many leading dairy science research groups, driven by a deep curiosity to understand, as far as is possible, how the wonderful animal that is the dairy cow actually works.
Prof. Harald von Witzke (University of Berlin)
Harald von Witzke is an emeritus professor for International Agricultural Trade and Development in the Albrecht Daniel Thaer Institute of Humboldt University of Berlin. He received his academic credentials in agricultural economics from Göttingen University. From 1983 to 1994 he served as a professor at the University of Minnesota where he also directed the Center for International Food and Agricultural Policy. Since 2009, von Witzke has been President of the Humboldt Forum for Food and Agriculture e. V. His current research is focused on sustainable world food security and the value to society of innovation and productivity growth in agriculture.
Mr Gersen Samuel Sumardi (Sustainability Analyst, Wilmar Europe Holdings)
Indonesian, currently based in Rotterdam. He started his career with Wilmar International in Indonesia, supervising the implementation of sustainable palm oil supply chain certification systems, such as RSPO and ISCC throughout the Indonesian operations and for some Wilmar refineries in India and Vietnam. He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.
